Scholarships to support students so that they may be able to finish their education at Stetson.





A. LaValle Creative Arts Scholarship

Studio Art, Art History, Digital Arts, or Theatre Arts

Full-tuition scholarship awarded to devoted and disciplined students of the arts majoring in a Creative Arts discipline (Studio Art, Art History, Digital Arts, or Theatre Arts).





Accenture Scholarship Program



Merit-based scholarships for rising seniors in the School of Business or College of Arts & Sciences with a minimum 3.2 gpa and majoring in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Mathematics. Selection of recipients is in the sole discretion of the Information Systems faculty in the School of Business and the Mathematics and Computer Science Department.





Accounting Scholarship Fund



Need-based scholarships in the School of Business for undergraduates majoring in accounting.





Ainslie B. Minor Endowed Scholarship



To assist one student annually who is a Spanish language major. The recipient will be recommended by the Chair of the Modern Languages and Literatures Department in collaboration with faculty in Spanish. The scholarship is established in honor of Ms. Dorothy C. Minor's (class of 1972) father, Ainslie B. Minor, who served in the United States Information Service in Brazil, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Haiti. His duties included student and cultural exchange programs.





Albert A. and Rebecca J. Savill Endowed Golf Scholarship



To provide a men's golf scholarship. The recipient will be determined by the Coach of the Golf Team and must remain in good academic standing for the award to be received.





Alexander DeGance Barnett Endowed Scholarship



To assist students with financial need from Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Nassau or Baker counties. If it is determined that no eligible recipients from those counties is identified then a recipient from elsewhere in Florida will be selected. The scholarship will be renewable for up to eight semesters as long as the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA.





Alfred I. duPont Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund



The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide assistance for outstanding, academically talented and performance-oriented students to attend Stetson University. Scholarship awards are made to students who plan to study in any of the schools or colleges on the DeLand campus. Preference is given to students majoring in health-care related fields or majors that relate to patient education or the medical or social problems associated with children and the elderly. Scholars will be chosen on the basis of their academic record, scholastic aptitude testing, intellectual abilities, character, leadership, and personal achievements. Recipients will have demonstrated leadership abilities, high moral character and involvement in activities of social responsibility. Recipients must maintain a 2.7 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), remain active in campus life, and may receive the Scholarship for up to eight semesters.





Alfred P. West, Sr. and Jane C. West Scholarship



This scholarship is need based for students in the School of Business Administration.





Alumni ASSIST Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships to students who are relatives of Stetson alumni. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need, leadership qualities, service to school and community, and at least a B+ overall average in high school or a 3.0 GPA from college for graduate school or transfer applicants. Scholarships are also available for graduate students at the College of Law and/or on the DeLand campus.





Alvin Jones Scholarship



To provide two merit scholarships a year for undergraduate students. Preference will be given to Deerfield Beach, FL area residents with particular preference given to members of the First Baptist Church of Deerfield Beach.





Alvin Watson Scholarship



Scholarship administered at the discretion of the University.





Anderson C. Bouchelle Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships at Stetson University with first preference given to students from Volusia County.





Andrew and Margaret Zeock Memorial Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships for deserving students.

Anna and Charles Salisbury Endowed Scholarship



This is a merit-based scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Music to recognize outstanding performance abilities and the well-rounded and leadership-oriented student.





Armour Scholarship Trust Fund



To apply to the account of one or more needy Baptist students enrolled in the University who are preparing for full time Christian service, said student or students to be selected by the University. The Office of Financial Aid will identify student award recipients based on input from the student organization that serves Baptist students.

Scholarships for young women in the Women's Golf Program.





AT&T Corporation Endowed Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships at Stetson University.





AT&T Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships to students pursuing a degree in the School of Business. Preference given to a minority student.





Babs Steffens Endowed Women's Golf Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships to women in the golf program based on athletic ability, financial need, sportsmanship, and citizenship. Recipients will be selected by the head women's golf coach in consultation with the athletic director.





Bank of America Endowed Merit-Based Scholarship



Merit-based scholarships for outstanding students in Business Administration. Two or more Bank of America Scholars per year, for a minimum of eight in four years, will receive these grants, based on academic achievement and promise.





Barbara Caldwell Granger Memorial Endowed Scholarship



To provide financial assistance to Baptist students who have demonstrated service and leadership with their fellow students. The recipients shall be selected by the person or persons responsible for the Baptist students' spiritual development (i.e. Collegiate Campus Ministry staff in conjunction with faculty in the Department of Religious Studies) on the Stetson University campus.





Barron String Orchestral Quasi-Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships to students in the Barron String Quartet and students of stringed instruments in the School of Music in honor of Inez and Geraldine Barron Gee.





Beall Family Endowed Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships for students who are Florida residents and majoring in any majors within the School of Business. Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in their high school or transfer school prior to enrollment at Stetson to be eligible, and may maintain the Scholarship from entry to graduation (up to eight semesters) with successful completion of course work. The donor would like to set a maximum award of $7,500 per student per year.





Belmont Creative Writing Quasi-Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships for the benefit of needy and deserving students seeking an education in creative writing.





Ben Hill Griffin, Jr. Endowed Scholarship



Scholarship based on need and merit.





Bernadette Rose Hall Memorial Quasi-Endowed Scholarship



To benefit students with financial need.





Bernard H. Cochran Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships for students from the Florida Baptist Children's Home in Lakeland, or any of the other Florida Baptist Children's homes.





Bertram S. and Margaret W. Reid Endowed Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships (two or more per class: Freshman - Senior) for students with a 3.0 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) who have leadership potential and have shown to be well-rounded. Preference is given to students planning careers in any medical field (including nursing)/ business; teaching; or Religious Studies. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA.





Betty Batson Bell Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships based on need and merit with a preference given to students from Palm Beach County. Preference will also be given to students majoring in the Department of Education or the Pre-Law program. The award will be renewable to recipients who have maintained a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.





Bill "Gator" White Endowed Scholarship



The purpose of the scholarship is to provide resources for the University to honor a baseball player each year as the Bill "Gator" White Scholar. Proceeds from the endowed scholarship will, at the recommendation of the Head Baseball coach and with the approval of the athletic director, provide enhanced scholarship assistance, improved baseball facilities or supplemental operational expenses.





Blanche O. Williams Scholarship



Scholarship for students with strong personal motivation and high moral character, leadership in family, church, and social activities, academic potential, and willingness to provide partial self support for a college education.





BLVD Tire Center Endowed Scholarship

Business, Deland High School

To provide scholarships to students from DeLand High School who have significant financial need and are majoring in the School of Business Administration. If there are no eligible recipients, students from a West Volusia high school or with a major outside the School of Business Administration may be considered. The scholarship will be awarded each year to an entering freshman, so that in four years and thereafter, there is a Boulevard Tire Center Endowed Scholar in each class year. Students maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation (up to 8 semesters) with a minimum 2. 7 GP A at Stetson. 

 





Bobby L. Adams Endowed Scholarship



To provide merit-based awards for rising seniors who are pursuing a Bachelor of Music Education in Instrumental Music degree or the equivalent. To be considered, students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale), demonstrated leadership, service, and commitment to the Music Education program and the goal to become a band director. Awards will be made in addition to a student's existing aid package.





Bowling Family Scholarship



Scholarships for academically talented students who demonstrate a high standard of moral character and are involved in activities of social responsibility to attend Stetson University. First preference is given to graduates of Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida. If there are no students from Christopher Columbus High School enrolled at Stetson in a given year, the scholarship may be awarded to a Stetson students who meets the other criteria and is from one of the following counties: Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe or Palm Beach County. The recipient may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation, provided that he or she maintains a 2.5 GPA and remains active in campus life.





Bozzuto's Inc. Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships for academically talented and highly motivated students to attend Stetson University. First preference is given to graduates of Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, Connecticut. Second preference is given to children of independent grocery store owners. Recipients may maintain this scholarship from entry to graduation (up to eight semesters) provided they remain active in campus life and maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA. Candidates for the scholarship are expected to exceed Stetson's minimum admission requirements.





Brenda Carole Jones Brown Endowed Organ Scholarship



Established in honor of Paul R. Jenkins, Jr., who was Brenda Carole Jones Brown's teacher, mentor and friend, to provide scholarships for organ students at Stetson University. Students must be proficient in organ and demonstrate leadership skills through participation in campus life and community activities. Students may maintain this scholarship from entry to graduation with successful completion of coursework. Scholarship awards will be made through the standard award process of the School of Music.





Burns Endowed Ministerial Scholarship Fund



This Scholarship is to be awarded to two students each year with input from the Religious Studies department chairperson. Recipients shall be preparing themselves for the Baptist Ministry, in need of financial assistance to remain enrolled at Stetson. This scholarship shall be available only to students who would not otherwise be able to complete their training for the Baptist Ministry except for the assistance this scholarship will give them.





C. Carter Colwell Endowed Scholarship



Scholarship for minority students based solely on need, not on grades. Recipients must major within the College of Arts and Sciences, and preference is to be given to Volusia County students. Student must maintain a 2.0 GPA at Stetson University to maintain the award.





Calkins Foundation Quasi-Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships for needy and deserving students.





Carl W. Bradbury Memorial Endowed Scholarship



Need-based scholarships with preference given to Accounting majors in the School of Business Administration involved in high school community service and/or sports.





Carnine Scholarship



Scholarships for students preparing for the ministry or the teaching profession.





Carroll E. Lewis Endowed Scholarship



To assist students who have financial need. Preference given to students majoring or minoring in Business Administration or to students from Marion County, Florida, majoring in any of the DeLand campus colleges or schools.





Celia Linda Kissner Quasi-Endowed Scholarship



To assist applicants who demonstrate a desire to achieve a formal education but who could not otherwise attend Stetson University due to financial constraints.





Chad Gordon and Family Endowed Scholarship



To assist students with disabilities, with preference given to financially needy students with physical disabilities. Secondary preference is given to financially needy students who perform volunteer work to help those with disabilities. In the event that no student meets these criteria, the scholarship may be awarded for a period of one year (two semesters) to a student with financial need.

Charles S. Glore Book Award



To provide book awards for rising sophomore students who need financial assistance to purchase textbooks. It is intended to enhance student retention by addressing an often-neglected area of expense.

Chris Davies Business Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships in memory of Stetson student Chris Davies for rising seniors in the School of Business Administration who plan careers in small businesses.





Chris Harkins Memorial Scholarship



Scholarship for a student brass player based on need and merit. The Dean of the School of Music is involved in selection.





Christine Downing Davis Smiley Ministerial Scholarship Trust



Scholarships for students who have shown evidence of their calling to the gospel ministry.





Chuck Wolfe Endowed Scholarship



To assist student who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ) or are LGBTQ students who demonstrate commitment to and leadership potential for social justice and equality issues through demonstrated service and advocacy for the advancement of equal rights for gay and lesbian citizens. First preference should be for political science majors, but if no Political science majors are identified, any other student meeting these criteria may receive the scholarship. Faculty or staff who serve as advisors for any gay and lesbian student groups on campus may recommend eligible candidates to the office of financial aid.





Class of 1967 Scholarship Fund



The Class of 1967 endowed scholarship is being funded by members of the class of 1967. Details of the endowed fund are to be determined.





Clayton Family Endowed Scholarship



To provide assistance for undergraduate students who would not otherwise be able to attend college. The funds will either be used to reduce loan indebtedness or be in addition to institutional aid. The scholarship will be awarded to students from Volusia county, Florida who have shown leadership skills and have indicated a desire to pursue a career in law. Recipients will maintain a 3.0 GPA to continue to be eligible for future awards. The scholarship award may be renewed up to eight semesters.





Clifford E. Hoar Quasi Endowed Fund



The scholarship will be awarded based upon criteria deemed to be the greatest priority by the President and Vice President of Enrollment Management to support strategic initiatives.





Clifford Rosa Endowed Business Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships for students in the School of Business Administration and/or students majoring in Economics. Recipients should be willing to commit to helping needy students by sponsoring similar scholarships in the future.





Clifton Family Scholarship



The purpose is to provide two scholarships for transfer students from Florida state colleges who have demonstrated financial need. Preference is given (in priority order) to transfers from Daytona State College, Valencia College and Seminole State College. Scholars are to be majoring in the College of Arts and Sciences with preference given to students who plan to or are majoring in American Studies. In priority order, students majoring in other fields, such as Education, History or Political Science may also be considered if they minor in or agree to take a class in American Studies while at Stetson. Preference is also given to well-rounded students who participated in extracurricular and leadership activities in high school and/or state college and who commit to being involved while at Stetson.





Clint Foundation Endowed Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships for students working to help finance their Stetson education with preference to high need students and minority students. Recipients are selected through the scholarship award process of Stetson University and may maintain the scholarship for up to eight semesters with successful completion of coursework. Scholars are asked to follow the example of the Clint Foundation by giving back to the community.





Clyde and Sarah Flowers Endowed Scholarship



To assist students with financial need. The Dean of Admissions collaborates with the Dean of Arts and Sciences and/or the Chair of the Department of Teacher Education, Biology and Chemistry. Preference will be given to women who plan to major in Education or the Pre-medical sciences, and who contribute to their Stetson education during the academic year through employment on or off campus.





College of Arts & Sciences Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships for students majoring in one of the disciplines of the Arts & Sciences based on academic promise or record of achievement at Stetson. The Director of Student Financial Planning will work in coordination with the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the department chairs within the college in making the awards.





Colonel & Mrs. William Edinger Endowed Military Scholarship



The purpose of the Fund is to assist U.S. Military veterans who served honorably and are enrolled full time at Stetson University. Qualifying applicants may be veterans from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and National Guard. Documentation of military service is required.

The scholarship may be awarded to students enrolled in either a bachelor's or master's degree program in the School of Business Administration or in the College of Arts and Sciences excluding majors in religion and students majoring in the School of Music. First preference will be given to student veterans, and second preference will be given to dependents of veterans who meet this same criteria. The scholarship may be awarded for up to eight semesters if the recipients maintain the minimum GPA required by Stetson.

The scholarship will be awarded on top of/in addition to the recipient's existing financial aid package. It is intended to provide assistance for expenses including on-campus housing, meal plans and books.





ConMur Scholarship



The purpose of the ConMur Scholarship at Stetson University is to provide scholarships for deserving music education majors. The ConMur Scholarship was established by Dr. Frederick S. Conklin, Jr. and Dr. Earnest W. Murphy, Jr. Funding was initially provided by memorial gifts in memory of Frederick S. Conklin, Jr. and through the Conklin estate.





D. E. and Mary S. Williams Endowed Scholarship Fund



Scholarships to support Stetson students.





Daryle Vlic Scott Endowed Scholarship



To provide scholarship assistance to Stetson University students studying in the School of Business Administration. Scholarship awards will be made through the award process of Stetson University. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation (up to 8 semesters) with successful completion of course work.





David and Leighan Rinker Endowed Scholarship



Merit-based scholarships to assist academically qualified and leadership oriented students. Awards are made to first-year students who plan to study in any of the schools or colleges on the DeLand campus. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation (up to 8 semesters) provided they continue to meet the scholarship criteria and represent its values, remain active in campus and community activities, and maintain at least a 2.7 grade point average. Scholarship recipients will be chosen on the basis of their anticipated enhancement of the religious and social life of students. Recipients will be students with high moral character, strong religious commitment, demonstrated leadership achievement in Christian churches and other religious organizations, and prior commitment to community service and continued involvement at Stetson. Some or all of the awards may be aligned with the Bonner Scholarship Award Criteria.





David and Leighan Rinker Endowment for International Travel



The purpose of this endowment is to provide financial support to full-time students for international travel. An endowed scholarship fund provides financial support that will enable more and more students to access transformational international learning opportunities, particularly programs led by Stetson faculty. The establishment of the endowment strengthens student and faculty confidence in the University's commitment to growing international learning, amplifying the communication campaign now in progress. The growth of this endowment, as we grow student participation rates in study abroad, will provide essential support for our goal of making international learning available to any Stetson student.





David and Leighan Rinker Fund for International Travel



Will enable students to access transformational international learning opportunities, particularly programs led by Stetson faculty. Financial need may be taken into consideration, but will not be a necessary criterion.





David and Shelia Urich Scholarship



The David and Sheila Urich Scholarship This scholarship award is to be made in addition to a student's financial aid package and not to be used as budget relieving funds for the University's merit awards. It will provide annual financial assistance for a student to assist in support services of various diversity, social justice and outreach programs at Stetson University. It is the wish of the Donor to expose students in a personal way to the legacies of pivotal members of the civil rights movement, such as Howard Thurman, in hopes that they might play a role in the future to help find solutions to social, religious and ethnic problems.

Scholarships for junior or senior students in the School of Music showing high academic achievement, financial need and Christian leadership.





Decker and Cheryl Youngman Scholarship



Need-based scholarships for graduates of the International Baccalaureate Program at Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Florida.





Digital Arts Scholarship



To provide merit-based scholarships for a rising junior or senior who is majoring in Digital Arts (with secondary consideration given to Marketing majors). Recipients may maintain the scholarship with successful completion of course work.





Dolly and Homer Hand Scholarship



The scholarships will be awarded annually, based upon criteria deemed to be the greatest priority by the President and the Vice President of Enrollment Management. Some or all of the awards may be aligned with the Bonner Scholarship Award Criteria.





Don Yaxley Scholarship



To provide scholarships for music students.





Doris M. Dede Memorial Endowed Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships to students in the College of Arts & Sciences who are majoring in the Natural Sciences with plans to continue on to medical school or enter the bio-medical field.





Dorothy Ball Greenlaw Endowed Scholarship



To provide assistance for Elementary Education majors in the year they undertake student teaching (usually their senior year). Recipients must have financial need and exhibit the qualities of compassion and caring.





Doug and Margaret Lee Endowed Scholarship



To assist academically and leadership oriented students in any of the schools or colleges on the DeLand campus who participate in activities that reflect a sense of social responsibility in alignment with the Bonner model, with preference given to ALANA (African-American, Latino, Asian or Native American) students.





Douglas and Margaret Lee Endowed Music Scholarship



To assist students majoring in the School of Music based on merit. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation, provided they remain in good academic standing. Scholarship recipients are selected through the scholarship award process of Stetson University and will be chosen by the Dean of the School of Music in consultation with Financial Aid.





Doyle and Mildred Carlton Scholarship



The purpose of the Doyle and Mildred Carlton Scholarship program at Stetson University is to assist academically qualified and leadership oriented students. Scholarship preference is given to students from economically challenged families and/or students who are working to put themselves through college. Preference will be given to students committed to Christian ideals, as demonstrated by their strong religious commitment and their leadership achievement in churches and other religious organizations. Recipients will have demonstrated a high standard of moral character and participated in activities that have reflected a sense of social responsibility. Recipients maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation, provided they maintain a 2.7 GPA and remain active in campus life. Scholarship recipients are selected through the scholarship award process of Stetson University. The Dean of Admissions will coordinate a multi-faceted program to identify prospective Carlton Scholars, including recommendations from current leaders of student religious organizations.





Dr. Iliana Mankin First Generation Student Endowed Book Fund



To provide assistance in purchasing textbooks for first generation college students who have demonstrated financial need with a declared major in the College of Arts & Sciences. Recipients must have a cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 3.7 (on a 4.0 scale), and have participated in extracurricular activities. Preference given to someone who participated in a service organization AND athletics OR band/orchestra/chorus OR held a PART-TIME job.





Dr. Irving Stover Endowed Scholarship for Theatre Arts



To provide scholarships for students who major or minor in Theatre Arts at the University.





Dr. J. Patrick and Janice Owens Figley Endowed Scholarship Fund



The purpose of the Dr. J. Patrick and Janice Owens Figley Endowed Scholarship Fund is to provide assistance to students with demonstrated financial need and with the preference for the recipients to be students in pursuit of Christian Ministry; or Christian ministry as a parish pastor or a pastoral counselor; or in pursuit of a career in mental health counseling.





Dr. M. G. Hunter Scholarship Fund



Scholarships for junior or senior students who show proficiency in Chemistry. This fund was created by a former parent and his daughter, a Stetson graduate, class of 1957, who received financial aid during a time of need.





Dr. Michael L. Rickman Legacy Endowed Scholarship



The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students with demonstrated financial need who are piano majors in the School of Music.





Dr. Milton Jones Endowed Scholarship - Memory of Prof Giffin



Scholarships for students in the School of Music with preference given to majors in voice or choral conducting.





Dr. Paul T. Langston Memorial Endowed Organ Scholarship



Merit based scholarships for Organ Majors in the School of Music.





Dr. Robert E. Fort, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship



The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students who are majoring in Music Theory within the School of Music and will be awarded on a combination of financial need and scholastic merit. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Recipients may maintain the Scholarship from entry to graduation (up to eight semesters) with successful completion of course work. Scholarship awards are made through the scholarship award process of the University. Recipients of the Scholarship are selected by the Office of Financial Aid in collaboration with the Dean of the School of Music, appropriate, faculty and staff and/or their designees. Scholarship budgets are determined annually by the Office of Finance. The Scholarship was established by Patricia M. Fort with a gift of $25,000 in December of 2017. Additional gifts may be made to the Scholarship at any time by any person or entity and are subject to the terms and conditions of this agreement.





Dr. Robert Fort Student Retention Scholarship



Scholarships for students in the School of Music who have successful academic records but cannot meet their tuition increases. A committee chosen by the Dean of the School of Music will work closely with Student Financial Planning in making awards.





Dr. T. Wayne Bailey Endowed Student Retention Scholarship



The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide scholarships to students in the College of Arts and Sciences with the preference given to students majoring in Political Science who have successful academic records but cannot meet tuition increased.





Dr. William Amory Underhill Memorial Scholarship



To provide two annual need-based scholarships for sophomore, junior or senior students with a 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to members of Phi Alpha Delta. Awarded prior to the beginning of the fall semester by a committee comprised of Chairs of Political Science Department, and Pre-Law Advisory Committee and representatives from Admissions and Financial Aid.





E. M. and Christine Lynn Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships for students who plan to study in the School of Business Administration. Recipients will maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation, provided they maintain a 2.7 GPA and remain active in campus life.





Earl Edington Endowed Ministerial Scholarship



Ministerial scholarships in memory of Earl B. Edington, a former Stetson Trustee.





Earl W. and Patricia B. Colvard Endowed Scholarship



To provide financial assistance for students from Volusia County with preference given to students from DeLand High School who have significant financial need and are majoring in the School of Business Administration. If there are no eligible recipients, students from within the state of Florida or with a major outside the School of Business Administration may be considered. (I) - The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students with demonstrated financial need who identify as being politically conservative through their membership in the College Republican's Club or who are recommended by the faculty of the Political Science Department. Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) and may qualify to receive the scholarship for up to eight semesters.(II) - Scholarship recipients will be informed of the name of the scholarship, the reason that they are receiving it (based on qualities listed above) and will receive a copy of the Current Financial Planner newsletter featuring the ""There's a Reason I'm Here"" article and photo (copy of the newsletter is attached to this agreement.) Sharing information about ""their"" scholarship donor is an important learning experience for the student recipients. Global Awareness Endowed Scholarship for Study Abroad



To enable undergraduate students in good academic standing to participate in Stetson University approved international study abroad programs, which are a primary mechanism for transformative intercultural learning and promote global awareness and understanding. Preference should be given to sophomore, junior, or senior level students.





Gordon and Jean Wells Scholarship



Scholarships with first preference to students pursuing a Master's of Business Administration degree (MBA) after completion of a Bachelor's degree in the Arts and Sciences. After successful completion of the first year of study toward the MBA degree, the recipient will be eligible to maintain the scholarship for the second year. If there is no eligible MBA candidate, a student participating in the Washington Semester Program may receive the scholarship. If neither option produces a candidate, award to be held. Financial need or GPA will not be a factor in granting the scholarship.

The purpose of the Gustave E. and Gena H. Johnson Scholarship at Stetson University is to provide scholarships. First preference is given to ministerial students preparing for the pastoral or other church staff minister. Second preference to students preparing to be missionaries. Third preference is given to needy, Christian students.





H. M. Giffin Endowed Scholarship



Competition for voice majors enrolled in the Applied Voice course who have passed the Sophomore Decision with the permission of voice instructor. Students to submit Request to Perform and perform two compositions in different languages before 3 off-campus judges. The awards will be available to the winners in the fall of the following year to be applied to the costs involved in attending Stetson as a music major.

Updated in 2023 - The purpose of the fund is to provide a first, second and third place prize for the Giffin Vocal Competition with any remaining funds used to cover competition-related expenses.

All Pelham Scholars will be chosen on the basis of their strong religious commitments and their demonstrated leadership achievement in churches and other religious organizations. Recipients will have demonstrated a high standard of moral character and participated in activities that have reflected a sense of social responsibility.

Recipients are selected through the scholarship award process of Stetson University with the following additional requirements: Students preparing for a career in the ministry must make public their commitment and calling to the ministry; be recommended by their home church; and must take the required course work in Religious Studies at Stetson. Lambda Chi Alpha Endowed Scholarship Fund



The purpose of the scholarship is to provide assistance for Lambda Chi brothers or legacies (including children and grandchildren) exclusively. Recipients will be encouraged to ""pay it forward"" and continue to support the Brotherhood into the future. Scholarships will be awarded after the initial $25,000 has been received and would underwrite need-based and merit scholarships provided to brothers or legacies of Lambda Chi Alpha. Specifically, 80% of the scholarship awards each year will go to students with demonstrated financial need and 20% will be merit awards.

This scholarship will provide financial support to a student on the Women's Golf Team who excels academically. The recipient must be an outstanding student having a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher and maintain a 2.75 GPA while competing on the Women's Golf Team.

Lawson Endowed Merit-Based Scholarship



Scholarships that recognize students of unusual ability, academic achievement, and commitment to principled citizenship. Preference is given to students majoring in Philosophy or other related fields, i.e. Religious Studies, English, or History. A campus scholarship committee will present eligible applicants to the Lawson committee who will make a recommendation. Mark and Lynn Hollis Education Renaissance Scholarship



Based on a combination of merit and need, Hollis scholarships will be awarded to students majoring in the Teacher Education Program. Recipients must demonstrate a commitment to community service. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation (up to eight semesters) provided they continue to meet the scholarship criteria and represent its values, remain active in campus and community activities, and maintain at least a 2.7 GPA. Mark and Lynn Hollis Scholarship



The purpose of the Mark and Lynn Hollis Scholarship is to assist students who possess a drive and determination to be successful at Stetson University, given the challenges of a rigorous academic program. These are students who have a lot of heart and a positive attitude, but may have struggled with GP As or SAT scores.

Scholarship preference is given to freshmen. The individual scholarship award amounts will not fall below 10% of the published tuition price for each year in which the student receives funds from the Scholarship. Recipients maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation, providing they are able to successfully complete the coursework at Stetson University. The Hollis Family would like to maintain personal contact with the Mark and Lynn Hollis Scholars during those students' years at Stetson.

Melissa Sullivan Endowed Scholarship



The purpose of the scholarship is to provide assistance for students with financial need who participated in the First Serve PAL program of Palm Beach County, Florida. Students must meet Stetson University's normal academic quality standards for admittance and applications for admission must be submitted by the priority deadline as listed on Stetson's website or catalog for that entry term. Late applications may be considered on a case by case basis. The leadership of the First Serve PAL program (currently Sonny Maken, Executive Director) is enouraged to send letters of recommendation for qualified candidates who might be considered for this scholarship. The First Serve PAL program administration will promote this scholarship to their participants, however, admission to the university is determined solely by the Office of Enrollment Management at Stetson University. Recommendations should be mailed to the Executive Director of Admissions at Stetson University.

The purpose of the Merridy Williams Memorial Endowed Flute Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to flute majors. The fund will be used to set up an endowment that will provide income to provide scholarships to one or more students enrolled at Stetson University who possess average to above average academic skills and have financial needs. Preference should be given to students whose academic concentration is in the natural sciences. The scholarship may provide up to Seventy-Five percent (75%) of the student's cost for tuition and room and board. Grantor intends that Stetson University assist the scholarship recipients to meet any financial need through the granting of work-study positions or through student loan programs. A scholarship grant to any one student may be renewed for up to four years.

First preference is to recruit Hispanic students from Miami-Dade or Broward Counties, but may be awarded to non-Hispanic students if few Hispanic students quality. Second preference is to retain students who meet the criteria above and who otherwise might leave Stetson for financial reasons. Awards will be made in addition to a student's initial aid package to provide the necessary financial incentive for the student to attend Stetson.





Palm Beach Community Trust Fund Scholarship



To provide full scholarships to two students beginning in 1999. In keeping with the annual Award letters from the Palm Beach Community Trust Fund, this scholarship is to be used for students enrolled in Liberal Arts majors.

The Pat and Patricia Wilson Endowed Scholarship is a continuation of the annual scholarship that the donor and her late husband, Pat T. Wilson '49, funded for many years. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist academically qualified female student-athletes with financial need to attend the University. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide need-based scholarship assistance for students majoring in business, from economically challenged families who are originally from DeLand, Florida.  If there, by happenstance, is no candidates from DeLand proper, the scholarship will benefit someone from Volusia County.  





Pi Kappa Alpha Endowed Scholarship



The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to Pi Kappa Alpha brothers or legacies (including children and grandchildren) exclusively.  Recipients will be encouraged to "pay it forward" and continue to support the Brotherhood into the future. Recipients of the Scholarship are selected by the Office of Financial Aid after collaboration with the President of the Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Association or his designee. Scholarships will be awarded after the initial $25,000 has been received and would underwrite merit scholarships provided to brothers or legacies of Pi Kappa Alpha.  The intent is to provide a scholarship award to each active brother.  Additionally, 20% of the annual distribution will be held in reserve to support any hardship situations.  This reserved portion will be applied as additional aid.





Quenzer Quasi-Endowed Scholarship



The scholarship will be awarded based upon criteria deemed to be the greatest priority by the President and the Vice President of Enrollment Management to support strategic initiatives.





R. Alan Hudgins Memorial Endowed Scholarship



To provide need-based scholarships for junior or senior students who would not otherwise be able to attend Stetson University due to lack of sufficient financial resources. Recipients must be majoring in either History or in the School of Business Administration and have demonstrated "leadership involvement." Recipients must maintain a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent on any other scale. A student transferring into Stetson as a junior or senior will not be eligible for an award under this scholarship fund until they have achieved at least a 2.75 GPA at Stetson.





R. Camille Dorman Endowed Scholarship



To provide assistance to students majoring in the Department of Teacher Education. Recipients must have graduated from a Florida high school; have met all of the entrance requirements of Stetson University; have a minimum cumulative high school G.P.A. of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale); be an active Christian, Catholic or Protestant; and be a citizen of the United States. One student per year will receive the award, and it will be renewable to that student annually if he/she maintains a minimum 3.0 G.PA. (on a 4.0 scale). Recipients will be selected through the scholarship award process of Stetson University.





R. D. and Hazel Flippo Memorial Scholarship

R. Dean Hollis Scholarship



Criteria:
The purpose of the R. Dean Hollis Scholarship is to provide scholarships for undergraduate students in the Teacher Education Program and the School of Business. Scholarships are awarded annually to students who maintain at least a 2.7 grade point average. Preference is given to students who participate in extracurricular activities, intramurals, and/or Greek life.
Administration:
The individual scholarship award amounts will not fall below 10% of the published tuition price for each year in which the student receives funds from the Scholarship. Recipients maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation for up to eight semesters providing they continue to meet the aforementioned criteria. Awards are made through the scholarship awarding process of the University.

To provide need-based scholarships for students with significant financial need who are eligible for the Pell Grant and who have a strong work ethic. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation (up to eight semesters) by maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Scholarship recipients may be considered to receive the award for up to 4 years for undergraduate degree programs and may be renewed provided they maintain a 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Award is renewable for up to 4 years for undergraduates and may be renewed as long as the student maintains the minimum credits recommended for their degree program (12 minimum).

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance for academically talented students who are Christian. Each year the scholarship budget will be split evenly between two students: one majoring within the College of Arts and Sciences (excluding those majoring in the natural sciences or Sport and Exercise Science) and one within the School of Music. In the event that only one student should meet the criteria, that student may receive the full award amount. In the event that no student should meet the criteria, the scholarship will not be awarded in that academic year. To provide merit-based scholarships for students who play intercollegiate tennis at Stetson and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Recipients may maintain the award from entry to graduation (up to eight semesters) with successful completion of coursework.





Richard E. Arnold Endowed Scholarship



To provide scholarships to undergraduate students in the School of Business who are majoring in Accounting or Business. The scholarship will be awarded to students from Southwest Florida defined as Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties. The award is merit based, with preference given to students who may not otherwise be covered by financial aid. Scholarship recipients are selected through the scholarship award process of Stetson University. The Director of Student Financial Planning collaborates with the Dean of the School of Business Administration in making the awards.





Richard Simms Memorial Scholarship



Scholarships for music students or instructors of music students based on need, talent or instructional benefit. May also provide for additional research or study by individual students in music areas. Dean of School of Music involved in selection.





Rinker Scholarship for Travel Courses in Religious Studies



To provide funding for students who wish to participate in a travel course in the department of Religious Studies. Students must apply for the scholarships through the faculty sponsor of the trip. Applicants must have a cumulative minimum Stetson GPA of 3.0, and must have completed one Religious Studies course at Stetson University prior to the travel course. Preference is given to students whose career goals are the professional ministry or the teaching of religious studies, or to students who are majors or minors in Religious Studies. The scholarships will usually range from $750 - $1,000 each.





Rob Brady Memorial Scholarship



To provide scholarships for students in the Humanities who are succeeding academically at Stetson University but have difficulty meeting their costs. Of particular interest would be students who because of changed family circumstances are financially challenged. Preference should be given to Philosophy majors or minors and/or to students who are the first in their family to attend college if there are such Humanity students in need. This scholarship is renewable if the need continues as long as the recipient maintains a satisfactory academic progress and is a full-time student. The Dean of Admissions and financial aid will work with the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in making the awards.

Ron and Dominique Salamone Piccolo Endowed Scholarship



To assist high-need students with at least a 2.75 grade point average, with preference given to students majoring in math or finance, or participating in Study Abroad. The scholarship is intended to reduce the recipients' loan indebtedness (subsidized loans), rather than replace gift aid, so it should be awarded only after all applicable federal, state and institutional gift aid has been awarded. Scholarships are renewable as long as the recipients maintain a 2.75 grade point average.

Sandra Stetson Scholarship



To award two scholarships of approximately $12,500 each, with preference given to incoming first-year students who care deeply about Florida's environment. Recipients should be interested in interning, doing field experience and/or completing a research project with the Naples Botanical Garden on pressing issues affecting Florida's environment. Students from any academic major relevant to environmental issues are welcome. Students should maintain the scholarship for four years (8 semesters) with successful completion of course work. If there are no appropriate first-year students, upper-class students may be considered.

Need-based scholarships for students in the School of Business with preference to students who would not otherwise be able to return to Stetson the following year. Recipients chosen by Dean of School of Business Administration.





Scott and Ann Bruin Scholarship



To assist students at Stetson University majoring in Environmental Science and who are directly involved with the "Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience" program. The scholarships are based on financial need and academic merit and are renewable for up to four years (8 semesters) as long as the recipients maintain a 3.0 GPA.





Shinholser Trust Scholarship



To assist two incoming freshman students with financial need who are graduates from New Smyrna Beach High School. Scholarship recipients must have graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Each student should receive $2,500 per year. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation, but for no longer than four (4) continuous years, provided they remain in good academic standing.





Sirang Endowed Scholarship



To provide assistance for students majoring in accounting in the Stetson University School of Business Administration. Recipients must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), an active scholastic life, and a need for financial aid. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation (up to eight semesters) with a 3.0 GPA. It is the donor's intention that the scholarships be awarded to at least five students.





Sirang Scholarship



To provide assistance for students majoring in accounting in the Stetson University School of Business Administration. Recipients must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), an active scholastic life, and a need for financial aid. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation (up to eight semesters) with a 3.0 GPA. It is the donor's intention that the scholarship be awarded to at least five students.





Snowden-Lane Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships awarded as follows:
1.) At least one award to a student studying Family Business as a major or minor. Recipients may maintain the scholarship from entry to graduation (up to 8 semesters) providing they maintain a 2.7 GPA and remain active in campus life.
2.) Other awards to academically talented and leadership-oriented students selected on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated leadership achievement in Christian churches and other Christian organizations, and anticipated enhancement of the religious and social life of students at Stetson. Awards made to first-year or transfer students at the DeLand campus. Southwest Florida Stetson Hatters Alumni Scholarship



To provide merit-based scholarships to Stetson students who are residents of Lee, Charlotte, or Collier Counties who excel both academically (maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75) and in extracurricular activities. First preference is given to returning seniors; if there are no eligible seniors, second preference will be given to returning juniors and transfer students with junior and senior status.

The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide one-time $2000 need-based scholarships for students who are current members of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and who have participated in the national Pi Kappa Phi's Ability Experience. First preference is given to Journey of Hope participant(s). Recipients must be in good standing with the University. This award is intended to provide financial assistance in addition to the student's existing financial aid package. If ability Experience events are cancelled (either temporarily or permanently), this scholarship may be used for retention purposes of Pi Kappa Phi members and will be administered in the same manner as outlined below. The Dr. Richard M. Libby Endowed Clay Target Team Scholarship



This scholarship is intended to benefit students accepted to Stetson who wish to continue their competitive shooting involvement, as a member of the Stetson Clay Target Team or its successor team if the name of the organization should change. It shall be awarded to qualified students who have demonstrated expertise in competitive shooting. Awards will be in the amount of $1,000 per academic year, in addition to any other financial aid received. This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of three additional years provided the recipient continues to meet scholarship requirements, including maintaining a 2.5 or greater cumulative grade point average and remaining in good standing with the Team.

The International Student Financial Hardship Endowed Scholarship Fund



The purpose of the International Student Financial Hardship Fund is to provide emergency financial assistance to full time, degree seeking international students who experience an unexpected financial hardship while attending Stetson University. Recipients of the Scholarship are selected by the Office of Financial Aid in collaboration with the International Student and Scholar Service Coordinator (within the office of WORLD International Learning) and the Dean of Students or his/her designee.





The TC Lane Memorial Endowed Scholarship



This scholarship is to honor TC Lane and to continue his legacy at Stetson University. TC, Tom Cornelius, had significant impact on those around him and his story continues to empower Stetson students to find and realize their potential. Like TC, recipients of this scholarship should be dedicated to learn, serve, lead and to make a difference in the world.

This scholarship will assist junior and senior students majoring in political science. Second preference is given to upper class students majoring in history.





The Tom C. and Patricia Brock Harris Endowed Scholarship



This scholarship is for students with financial need. Recipients must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and have a strong character, personal initiative and be majoring within the College of Arts and Sciences. Thomas A. lngui Endowed Organ Scholarship



The scholarship will be used to annually assist a student with demonstrated financial need who is an organ major in the second, third of fourth year in the School of Music. The scholarship is to be used to supplement and enhance financial support for students above and beyond any other financial support award.

Scholarships to assist academically talented and highly motivated students in attending Stetson University. Scholarship awards are made to students who plan to major in the School of Business with preference given to students from the Jacksonville area.





TIAA Bank Scholarship



Assists low to moderate income students from one of the following counties: Duval, Lee, Collier, Pinellas, Palm Beach, Broward or Miami Dade. Preference will be given to eligible students with the greatest need based on household income. Students must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours), earn a minimum of 12 credits by the end of each academic year and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Students will consent to release grades and FASFA information to the donor to confirm annual eligibility. Renewable up to nine semesters.

Tippen Davidson Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships in the School of Music based on performing talent and financial need. Recipients will be selected by the Dean of the School of Music on the basis of performing talent and financial need. The students will be expected to maintain a 2.5 grade point average and to participate actively in the musical life of Stetson and the community.





Tom and Marilou Horton Endowed Scholarship

Scholarships for students based on academic merit, seriousness of purpose, strong personal motivation, leadership potential and moral character.





Wallace B. Foard, Jr. Memorial Scholarship



To students who are qualified in the following categories: Marine Vietnam war veteran(s); Army, Navy, and Air Corps Vietnam war veteran(s); young men majoring in English and/or journalism. These young men must be of high moral character, high academic potential, and lacking the necessary family funding, or other financial resources, with the exception of monies received under the G.I. Bill of Rights.





Wall-Valliere Scholarship



Scholarship for students who desire to become Baptist ministers; ministers of music or education; or home or foreign missionaries.





We Believe in You Quasi-Endowed Scholarship



Quasi-endowed fund established by the Board of Trustees to meet the needs of students who are unable to register because of balances due to their student accounts.





Wheat Quasi-Endowed Scholarship



To provide scholarships with preference given, but not limited to, members of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Awards based on involvement at school and campus activities.





Willa Dean Lowery Endowed Scholarship



Scholarships for Florida residents in the College of Arts & Sciences with a 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to students majoring in a natural science with financial need.





William Alston Clark and Carolyn McCorkle Clark Endowed Scholarship



The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students with demonstrated financial need who majoring in Music Education and entering their Junior or Senior year with a strong desire to reach instrumental or vocal music. The scholarship will be awarded on an alternating basis each year - one year to an Instrumental Music Education major and the next year to a Choral Music Education Major. The Dean of the School of Music or their designee will have the discretion to override that process.





William C. Emerson Scholarship



Scholarships for worthy individuals.





William E. Mathewson, Jr. Trust Endowed Scholarship



The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students with demonstrated financial need who are majoring in Education. Students must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible to receive the scholarship for up to eight semesters.





William M. and Nina B. Hollis Fnd Schlp



Scholarships for academically talented and leadership oriented students who might not otherwise be able to afford to attend Stetson. At least one male and female student with superior academic achievement and leadership ability are chosen annually as Hollis Leadership Scholars. Other scholarships are awarded to middle income students, needy students, and minority students.





Williams FloorCenter Scholarship



Need-based scholarships for incoming freshmen who are graduating from a West Volusia high school and who plan to major in the School of Business. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA.





Wingfield Music Scholars Fund

Music, String Program, Bachelor of Music, String Quartet

The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial assistance for students in the School of Music. The Scholarship will annually be awarded to four (4) students who are each pursuing a bachelor of music degree and participating in a string quartet chamber program. The scholarships are to be awarded annually up to $5,000 per student which will be applied towards enrollment costs at Stetson University and the School of Music. 

The Wingfield Trust Music Scholars will be selected by audition and renewed annually based on academic merit and financial need. 

Student recipients must develop and maintain a high level of academic and artistic achievements during their residency at the School of Music. Eligibility criteria will be based on talent and ability of the student.
